Artist Review: FEET (By Will Zevon and Eli Erickson)

ree

FEET is an indie/punk band based in London. Despite the release of many successful albums, they have remained a somewhat underground band. With just 5 members, these guys spend their days in their London flat making music together.

From their first album, What’s Inside is More Than Just Ham, my personal favorite track is “Chalet 47." With the band’s strong vocals and catchy music, they never fail to make a song that ends up on repeat.

Their latest album release, Make It Up, is another one full of hits. Their song “Why Would I Lie” addresses one of those core human emotions: the guilt you feel after telling a lie. Throughout the song, you can really hear the remorse in Haverson’s voice (lead singer), especially during the chorus. The lyrics describe a seemingly perfect man who knows deep down his perfection is all a lie. He falls in love with a woman, all the while believing that she deserves someone better than him.

While we patiently await their next release, the band is slowly getting the recognition they deserve, with their monthly listeners climbing up to 70k within the past year. Listeners are undoubtedly beginning to recognize the emotional intention behind each song.

“There’s no throw away ideas on this album, and everything has to have its place,” says George Haverson (lead singer for FEET).
