Waiting To Spill is an amazing piece of work from The Backseat Lovers. The Backseat Lovers is an American alternative rock band that formed in Provo, Utah, in 2018. The band released their major label debut album, Waiting to Spill, on October 28, 2022, via Capitol Records.
At first, I was skeptical as to whether Waiting To Spill would live up to the high bar set by When We Were Friends, The Back Seat Lovers’ previous album. However, I’m glad to say that the beautiful composition and relatable writing of this album are unmatched. Waiting To Spill takes you through a journey of emotions. Each song provides its own sort of satisfaction. It does not disappoint.

My favorite track on the album has to be a tie between “Follow The Sound” and “Viciously Lonely.” “Follow The Sound” has an amazing change in the middle that truly transported me to a different headspace. “Viciously Lonely” beautifully describes the many emotions that accompany the state of aloneness, which many listeners may relate to. Waiting to Spill encapsulates an important artistic shift to solemn reflection on the meaning of life. I would recommend this album time and time again.
