Black Country, New Road, an English rock band from Cambridge, released one of the most creative concept albums I have ever listened to. Instead of utilizing a conventional method in recording the album, they created a 3-day-long experience, held at Bush Hall, where they performed a concert, recorded their album live, and filmed a documentary that is now forever preserved on YouTube. Live At Bush Hall consists of a mixture of songs, detailing 3 separate stories, built around different play concepts created by the band. Aside from the live recording being an intimate experience for the fans, it also brings a specific feel to the album itself; the stories come alive when played, bringing you into Bush Hall and deeply conveying emotion.

This album has many highlights, but the one song that sticks out to me the most is “I Won’t Always Love You.” To me, this song details a very intense realization in a relationship, where you feel as if everything has come to a breaking point. This culminates in an explosive fight. “I Won’t Always Love You” encapsulates the fear of grappling between anger and love.
